I am an International Affairs/Poli Sci double major (Hist minor, because why the hell not?) and I’ll actually be finished with all my courses and credits a semester early (Spring 2011 as opposed to Fall 2012).
My question is what timeline should I follow to take the GRE? I plan on going off to grad school to continue studying International Affairs.
Thanks! If I left out important details, let me know.

The GRE is not mandatory, it’s only recommended to help you get selected for admission to graduate schools that are more selective than others.
I’d strongly recommend contacting the school where you want to enroll for International Affairs program, and ask them if the GRE is a component of their selection process.
If you are continuing your education towards a graduate degree, from the same college where you got your BA, a GRE may not even be applicable.
But, to learn more about the time table, when they are offered, see the resource/link below.
You should take a GRE test in a timely manner so results and score will be back before the admission process starts for your graduate school.
That should make it about summer or fall of 2010 for you.
