Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his GRE exam.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great Gre guide that helped me a lot
So study hard and good luck!
that is, compared to the penalty for incorrect answers? Please show your source if you have one; I’d like to check it out myself.
I see you asked a very similar question before with no luck. I feel obliged to help.
I found a promising source from the 2005 book, Acing the GRE (source provided, in PDF format, at the bottom of this entry). It’s an old source, and it’s very possible that the formula has changed since then. Regardless, here it is:
"
There is no penalty for guessing on the GRE. If you guess incorrectly, one point is deducted from your possible raw score. If you leave
the question blank, one point is deducted from your possible raw score.
You can see that you should first eliminate and then guess on all questions you don’t know. If you can rule out even one wrong answer, your odds of guessing correctly have improved.
"
There is no penalty for unanswered questions in GRE.
If you answer you get points for the answer, if you dont answer, you dont get anything.
But, questions at the end of the exam have very less points, maybe 10 to 50.
If you have got 80% of questions right, you can still score 800.
