I would determine where your strengths and weaknesses lie and tailor your studying to that. I am strong in math and average in verbal. The first time I took it I used a general GRE study book and did well on the math but only average on the verbal. So, I bought books that had thousands of GRE words and memorized tons of them and brought my verbal score up by 130 pts.
Many of my students have reported good experiences with the Barron’s guide, but really, it’s up to you.
Take a look at the several guides that are out there, and choose which system appeals to you. The books with several practice tests are definitely valuable.
I was told that Barron’s was best, but I had a problem with the book format. Once a friend lent me some cards, it improved my score. Be prepared to take it a few times. I’m not a great test-taker, but ended up doing okay with it. Good luck!
