What do you do when you take the GRE( Graduate Requirements Exam) and you do horrible on it?
Looking for info on gre preparation classes, gre preparation courses, gre test course and more?

Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his GRE exam.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great Gre guide that helped me a lot
So study hard and good luck!
I took the GRE recently and it is the only opportunity I had to submit scores to prospective programs. Bottomline is I did horrible on it. I have an above average GPA and I have outstanding recommendations and job experience.
How should I market myself to deflect attention, or explain my poor performance on my exam?
Ok – first of all, why did you do terribly on the GRE? Did you run out of time, did you have a bad day, did you not adequately prepare for it?
The best advice I have for you is to address your scores in your personal statements for grad school. Let them know that you are not good at standardized testing. Do not go into too much detail because you don’t want to make yourself look any worse. Then make sure to highlight your GPA and any academic achievements you might have. Use your statement to express your interest in the program and how your undergrad degree and work experiences have helped prepare you for graduate studies. If possible, also try to schedule and intereview with your prospective schools. It always helps to network and have that personal contact.
no way to explain, get a job and take it again when available
First, retake the test at your first opportunity if you think you can improve on the score.
If that doesn’t help, you may need to consider alternatives to grad school. But one thing you can do is to take a couple of classes in the grad program, and if you’re successful, that will help you to get admitted somewhere as proof that you’ll be successful in the classes even if you aren’t on a single exam.
Good luck.
I would suggest you to retake the exam if you do have the time and are willing to spend the money. Although there are people who get accepted with mediocre scores, it is always better to have good scores, right? However, the thing to remember is that you retake it only if you think you can score higher. Otherwise, it will be a waste of time and money.
