Looking for info on gre preparation classes, gre preparation courses, gre test course and more?

Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his GRE exam.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great Gre guide that helped me a lot
So study hard and good luck!

We have a desktop with a DSL hook-up in our family room in the basement. My college student children want to be able to access the web on their laptops while in their rooms. What do I need to buy? Their laptops have wireless capabilites.

You will need a wireless router to get the net to the laptops…. However, you will NOT need to put a wireless card in your desktop computer since (I’m assuming) your DSL modem is near your computer….Here’s how you will hook it up….

From your DSL modem, take the network cable (the end looks like a phone jack) and hook it into the WLAN jack on the router (the WLAN jack will away from the other 4 network jacks)….Run a cable from your computer to 1 of the 4 LAN jacks, and your desktop should be good to go

Finally…when shopping for your your router, I recommend that you INSIST on getting an 802.11B router simply because the transfer speed limit on your DSL modem is 10mbs TOPS!!! While the salesman will hit you with stuff about the 55mbs speed of the newer 802.11G units, the fastest your ever going to get from your DSL modem is 10mbs…. Since the B routers are falling out of popularity, you can usually get them for less than the current G routers if they have them in stock….

As far as brand names go…I prefer Linksys…but Netgear or D-Link are also good too…I just find the Linksys a little easier to work with, and their manuals are easy to understand for the non-tech saavy…..

you need a wireless router. plug the internet wire from your desktop into the wireless router, then put a wireless card in your old computer if you don’t already have it. everyone should then be able to auto configure to get internet. but more importantly, your family room is in the basement?

You just need a wireless router or access point. I like routers because they have a built in firewall. There are various brands, but I like Linksys. You can get one for about $40.

Easiest setup is DSL and a wireless router. Talk with the guys at BestBuy or a local computer store.

    Hi.

Two choices when the devices are not in line of sight:
    1. Bluetooth
    2. Wireless router with wireless cards /capabilities installed in each laptop.

You can get a wireless router for about $20.
