What can I expect the GRE to entail?
Looking for info on gre preparation classes, gre preparation courses,gre test course and more?

Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his GRE exam.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great Gre guide that helped me a lot
So study hard and good luck!
I am only a sophomore in college, but I already know that I want to get my doctorate in psychology. I want to know what sort of information the GRE covers so that I can take the right courses to prepare myself.
GRE like the SATs. Math and critical thinking English classes may help a little but the best bet is to practice the GRE tests to get great scores. Also, practice vocabulary words. GRE includes:
Verbal Reasoning — The skills measured include the test taker’s ability to
* analyze and evaluate written material and synthesize information obtained from it
* analyze relationships among component parts of sentences
* recognize relationships between words and concepts.
Quantitative Reasoning — The skills measured include the test taker’s ability to
* understand basic concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis
* reason quantitatively
* solve problems in a quantitative setting.
Analytical Writing — The skills measured include the test taker’s ability to
* articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively
* examine claims and accompanying evidence
* support ideas with relevant reasons and examples
* sustain a well-focused, coherent discussion
* control the elements of standard written English.
Avoid Kaplan, Princeton, etc GRE books. Get GRE books from ETS (ETS creates GRE questions). ETS books use actual questions from old GRE tests. The other books make up their own questions that are similar but not the same as the real GRE test questions.
Also, if you are planning to take the Psychology GRE test, take it right after you are done with all of your psych classes.
My gf said she didn’t really need to study for it b/c she had just finished taking the courses.
Best wishes!
Here are some sample questions. Good luck!
