GRE 2-3 months to study?

Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his GRE exam.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great Gre guide that helped me a lot
So study hard and good luck!
Im planning on taking the GRE in august 08, i took a diagnostic test i did real good on the math( except for having to review a few things) but need help on the verbal part.
What books or study guides do you find most useful and what tips would you give me for taking the GRE in a couple of months I really suck at vocab *analogies and antonyms* i do alright on the reading compr.
also what is considered a good score on the GRE, most of the schools im appling to require a 1100 would it be hard to get that or do i need to study really hard * if it helps i only got like a 940 on the SAT*
all help is good thanks
Studying for the chemistry subject GRE-How best to do this?
Hi, I am looking for resources to help me prepare for the chemistry subject GRE and any advice to do well on the exam and get into grad school. Thank you very much!
How do I ascertain the "basic minimum" for these courses?
How do I find the old exams?
The reviews of the study guides for books to study for the chem GRE got poor marks. Is there a good study aid out there?
Thank you very much.
how hard are the GRE's? Are their good sources I can study for free with online? If not, please give me the?
link to some good study guides from amazon or wherever.
And how much studying is required? for how many weeks or months?

So I'm about to take the Miller Analogies Test!! Any Advice??!! 10 points!?
I’ve been studying for this test for months and I don’t feel I’ve improved very much. It seems this test is a glorified trivia test that’s impossible to study for. I chose it because it was cheaper than the GRE and is offered on a date that’s more convenient for me, but I’m worried I won’t do well.
Any Advice? For people who took the test, did you find it to be extremely difficult? I’m using study guides that are up to 6 years old, so maybe it’s been made easier in the past few years…
Does any one else agree that ETS praxis tests are a Corporate scam?
When you take the praxis ll english: Content knowledge, you’ll realize that the test has been advertised as but includes a registration fee as well making it 5 dollars. I’m so sick of ETS, I also took the GRE using study guides from kaplan and princeton review which are misleading and uneffective. The praxis ll study guides for english are worthless because the actual test is based on reading comprehension. ETS is a scam but what can we as students and prospective teachers do about it?
im taking the gre in october …?
does anyone out there have any good recomendations on study guides or courses to take to help prepare for it…any info would be appreciated
GRE and PRAXIS I?
I am studying to take the GRE at the end of this month. However, I’ve found that most of the GRE study guides only have questions and explanations, but no rules to memorize, which really helps.
A few years ago, I studied to take the Praxis I with a book that really helped me score high. I liked that it broke everything down with rules to memorize such as the area of circles, triangles, etc. as well as basic rules for percentage problems and ratios.
I was wondering if the math sections of the GRE and the PRAXIS I are similar? I wanted to study using the same book, but wasn’t sure if it would help…thanks!

Wanna Teach Myself Algebra, Trig and Calculus…?
I’ve taken the classes already, but I wanna go to grad school. What’s the best study guide for the GRE? What are the best study guides for refreshing myself in math?
GRE plan of study with one year to work with.?
I have one year to study for this test. Can anyone give me a plan of study which has been successful beyond getting study guides from the local bookstore? I am particularly weak in math, the furthest I have been in undergraduate study is Statistics I.
The GRE test question.?
How is this test compared to the college entry level exam? Not the SAT or ACT. I am considering going to grad school, however, I was told I need to take the GRE exam and I know nothing about it. Where can i find all the information about it and even study guides?
GRE Math subject test (not general test) preparation tips?
All, I am trying to come up with a study plan for the Math GRE subject exam and would like some advice, preferably from those who have already taken it or tutored test takers, on how to prepare for it. I am aiming for as high a score as possible, and I minored in math as an undergrad. I would be especially grateful if anyone could recommend specific textbooks or study guides to work with beyond the Princeton, Kaplan, REA, Rudman, et al., subject test guides.
GRE study guides…..?
Gearing up for the test, any advice on study guides? ETS, Kaplan or Princeton Review? Also, if I were to take a prep class Kaplan or Princeton Review? Comparable or one better than the other? Thanks!

What’s the best way to study for the gre without depriving yourself of your life?
Don’t tell me princeton review, as I discovered the hard way that its only a scam as well as the other study guides. So how can I learn all that potential vocab and learn how to master those word problems in a practical, my last scores were embarrasingly low, all that studying I did was for nothing, please help!
GRE study guides, need a little help please?
Hi everyone out there in cyber world,
I live in the UK and am at a UK university for my undergrad degree. Next year I’d like to go to grad school in the US so I gather I need to sit some extra tests to apply for that- the GRE general and the GRE physics tests. Since this concept of extra tests for postgrad study is completely alien to me over here I think I will need to get a couple of study guides for these two tests. I was hoping to sit the tests in mid November since then that should give me a month to get results back and complete applications for the earliest deadlines.
Could anyone advise me on the best study guides to get? There seem to be a few on the internet available. I need something that explains the whole sort of principles of these tests as well as tells me everything I need to know (or at least outlines it in enough detail so that I could then use other books). There isn’t anyone over here who knows anything about these so I can’t just pop along to ask what I need to learn next. If these requirements aren’t all met by one individual book then are the perhaps pairs you’d recommend?
Also, any study/exam tips? How much onus do the universities place on these tests? It would seem strange to me that they would consider them more important than the grades you have been getting during your courses for the last 3/4 years?!
Thanks for your help
Should I take the new GRE in Sept or take the old one this July?
I am planning on going to graduate school in the fall of 2008 and need to take my GRE sometime between now and October. However, the test is being completely revamped in August and it will no longer test the old material. I had originally planned on studying this summer and taking the test in August, but it is no longer offered then and the new study guides won’t come out until mid-July. Should I take the old, time-tested version, even though I won’t have as much time to prepare for it as I feel I need, or should I take the new version this September?
Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.
What is the best tool in helping prepare for the GRE?
I’m taking the GRE in a month. I have looked at a few study guides from the library, and browsed through an online practice test. I haven’t been in school for almost 10 years now, and I can’t remember any of the math I once knew–I’ll be fine on the verbal portion of the test, but I really need help with the quantitative section. Anyone have any recommendations?
gre study guide?
I was checking my college bookstore and I found a few GRE study guides. There was a general one, a Kaplan, Barrons, Princeton Review. Which of those would be of the most benefit? If there is a different one give me the name of it, and any other suggestions for studying. What about the LSAT I’m going to start studying for that as well. Thanks.
GRE Study guides…do I need the recent publishing?
I have two GRE study guides that were handed down by friends along with the vocabulary booklet. Both of the study guides are the 2007 edition. Would these suffice or should I buy the newer editions?
I have the GRE general study guides for 2008, exam was rescheduled for January 2, 2009. Do I need new books?
I had originally planned to take the General GRE in Jan ‘08, but had to reschedule for Jan ‘09. Do you think the questions/format will be so different that I will need new study guides? Also, how difficult is the exam REALLY? Thanks for any help!
Which GRE study materials are best for preparing students for the quantitative section of the exam?
I’m studying for the GRE and my biggest weakness is the quantitative section. Are there any good study guides that focus on preparing students for this section of the exam?
Thanks!
