Question about Grad school?

Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his GRE exam.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great Gre guide that helped me a lot
So study hard and good luck!
I’m in my final semester as an undergrad math major. I’m trying to decide between going to grad school for applied statistics or pure math.
I have a problem though. Like anyone else applying for grad school, I want to qualify for a fellowship or stipend. However, because of my schedule and the limited math majors at my school, I didn’t get to take topology, differential equations, and group theory. I have a 3.67 g.p.a and have gotten better than an A- in all my math courses.
I going to take the GRE to reinforce my qualifications. Any suggestions on how to teach myself topology, differential equations and group theory in 3 weeks? I need to get a high score on the GRE to compete against others for a fellowship/stipend.
Also, any ideas on good schools for applied statistics or pure math? (maybe schools that don’t worry as much about a GRE score and give more weight to G.P.A?)
Any answers would be appreciated.

KAPLAN Prepcourses? Are they effective?
I’m preparing for my DATs. My friend is taking KAPLAN’s GRE prep course, and he says that it is very helpful. My fear is that I pay 00 (Thats how much it costs) and I end up wasting time. They have this "higher score gaurantee" thing where I can retake the course If I feel unready but the truth is, that’s more time out of my life, from my job, from my studies, so I don’t really see it as much of a plus.
SO has anyone had any experience with Major Test Prep Courses (such as SAT, GRE, MCAT ect) and can offer me advice? Should I just stick with buying a prep book and read it or shell out the cash? Mind you, I want to get a very high score.
Anyone with experience/knowledge about the Physics GRE Subject Test?
I’m planning to take the physics gre, and i would like to know what’s the best way to prepare.
I’ve been told by friends who have taken the exam that a sound and thorough understanding of General Physics (from a general physics textbook which covers all areas of physics in general) is more than enough to get a high score in the physics subject tests (700+) and that studying entire texts which focus exclusively on one specialized topic (either quantum.. atomic..or.. relativity, etc..) may actually hurt my preparation.
Of course, a much broader consensus would be preferred…so please help…opinions are welcome!
Spiritually speaking, could you keep me in your thoughts or prayers today, as I have my GRE exam at noon?
I’m really nervous ![]()
I’ve studied for about two months, yet I still feel woefully unprepared.
I need a high score to get into a Master’s in Nursing accelerated program.
Anyone have tips for the preparing for the math GRE general test?
I’ve never been that great at math, so I’ve got a lot of ground to cover. A poor math GRE score kept me from getting into programs in the past, so I’ve got to aim for a high score (preferably 700 or above). Any tips in terms of materials or study techniques? Thanks!
People please help me out to prepare for GRE and TOFEL?
Guide me on how to prepare for GRE and TOFEL exams so that i can get a very high score enough to join top USA univ.

What is the best book to get when studying for the GRE?
So the 3 books that I can’t decided between are of course PR, Kaplan & Barrons and I’ve heard a lot of good and bad things about all of them. I’m not that bad at math already so a book that isn’t too amazing in the math section wouldn’t be too bad. I do need a REALLY high score in the writing and verbal sections for the graduate program that I am going to be applying for. Which book would you recommend for a high writing and verbal score? Also, should I bother buying the CD with the book?
Is it possible or damn near impossible to get an 1040 on the gre exam?
I need to get a high score due to having a low gpa.
GRE TEST: studying the Kaplan basic gre guide, is it good enough?
ive already worked through the verbal. i also got the kaplan box of flashcards for that part. im now onto the quantitative secitonh. wondering if studying this entire book will be enough to get a high score on the GRE ? Thanks
Do all graduate schools require you take the GRE Test?
I was never told this, but I am looking at Stanford University, and it requires a high score on this GRE test that I have never heard of?
Any hints on how to get a high score on the old GRE test?
I’m supposed to sit for the GRE test soon and I was wondering whether anyone out there who has already taken the exam might have some helpful hints on how to get a high score. I’m doing really well in the quantitative section, it’s the other part that gets me sometimes!! Besides, I’ve checked out some of the universities websites and none of them list what grade they consider for the cut off. Does anyone know what score they accept? Thanks in advance!
