For applying to graduate programs in Literature, should I retake the GRE general exam with these scores?

Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his GRE exam.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great Gre guide that helped me a lot
So study hard and good luck!
I took the GRE in May and recently received my scores.
Overall: 1320
Verbal: 720
Quantitative: 600
Analytical: 4.0
Similar to many examinees, I find GRE test results vague and impenetrable. I feel confident with my verbal score, greatly above the mean, and my quantitative score, slightly below the average. However, having majored in English, I was rather shocked upon seeing the 4.0 score in the Analytical writing portion. Surprisingly, at least for me, I had the most difficulty with this part of the exam.
To flesh out my academic background, I graduated from a state school with a GPA of 3.77, completed an independent study within my field, and developed amicable relationships with my professors from whom I would ask for letters of recommendation.
In addition to feedback to my question, I welcome any advice about academic life and graduate school as well.
Thank you.

I have pretty ambitious plans regarding my masters degree, I am a year 2 undergraduate student right now and I know I can sit on a computer GRE test any time I want. But when do you think is the best time to take it? I have no idea, when, 3rd year or 4th year, I should be applying to the universities for postgraduate studies. Can you please help me?

How much time is recommened to study for the GRE general exam?
So I have a couple of months before I apply to a PhD program for psychology. Most applications are due by December. However, the GRE test is required for the application. The exam is on or around October 24, 2009 and I’m a little worried that I will not be able to prepare myself in enough time. How much time would you recommend to prepare for the GRE? And how many hours a day if you only had like a month to study???
Can I nominate universities to receive GRE test results even though I haven't yet applied?
I am going to take the GRE – Graduate Records Exam soon but I haven’t yet applied to any universities – although I have some in mind. Is it alright if I nominate these to receive GRE test results even though I haven’t yet applied to the universities?
Why is the paper based GRE test shorter?
I’m going to take the paper based GRE soon. On the official GRE document its says:
Typical Verbal section: 38 questions per section – 30 minutes per section
Quantitative section: 30 questions per section – 30 minutes
The time for the issue and argument questions are the same as the computer test – 45 and 30 minutes respectively.
Does anyone know why the paper based GRE test is shorter?
What GRE test prep book should I buy?
I want to go to grad school and I am wondering what GRE test prep books you all have used. Im guessing that the Kaplan books are the best, but has anyone tried any others.
Self-employed taxes? Can I write off a GRE study guide book?
I’m a real estate appraiser (considered self-employed) and I’m taking the GRE in February to try to get into a Master’s program so I can get a better job. When I file my quarterly estimated taxes for April, can I write off a GRE study guide book? Can I write off the 0 fee to take the GRE test, too?
I need as many write-offs as I can get since I’m shelling out most of the money I’ve made so far for LASIK surgery in March. I know I can write off 7.5% of the surgery, but the surgery is going to cost me just about everything I’ve made for the last three months, minus my regular expenses (gas, food, health insurance, car repairs, etc). Plus I have to take a few days off of work to heal before I can go out driving around again.
Well that’s great then! I thought I was going to have to eat most of the LASIK cost and still get taxed on the remainder. Didn’t seem fair to me, but neither do any taxes for that matter.
So I can write off all 00 for the entire surgery since it’s more than 7.5% of my gross pay? Gosh, then there won’t be anything left to tax me on
Oh, if only I could do that every quarter…
Do i need to take the SAT to do a graduate course in the US?
Do I need to take this or do i just need the GRE test?
GRE Verbal Question?
This is for anyone who has taken the general GRE test recently: how many GRE Reading Comprehension Passages did you get? Was there just on reading passage with corresponding answers or two or three?
I’ve taken several GRE tests online (I am taking a GRE Course) and do fine until a third reading passage pops up in the last 5 minutes of the test. I am wondering if this third passage happened to anyone during the actual test??

Missed my GRE test date: What happens next?
I missed my GRE test date due to family emergency and it was too late to cancel or reschedule my test date. I understand the registration money cant be refunded, but will it affect my future test score in anyways? I know it is mentioned that they hold on to the scores for 5 years, but i am hoping that doesn’t account for exams not taken? I am confused and worried.
Can you take the GRE test without sending the scores to a school?
I would like to take the test, but in case I do poorly I don’t want to send it to schools I’m interested in. Is it possible to do this? If I take the GRE test a second time and send those scores to schools do they get to see my first test scores as well?
Will I be at a disadvantage if I take the GRE test again?
Do schools take into consideration all previous GRE test marks, or just your highest?
Would a GRE preparation course help with the MCAT?
There’s a free GRE preparation workshop in conjunction with a research internship I’m applying to, and I was trying to decide whether to dedicate the extra time to attend the free workshops. I’m really not interested in taking the GRE test, but if it ultimately helps with the MCATs, then I’ll put in the extra effort. Thanks in advance for all your responses!
