I am B.E(ECE-2006 pass-out) graduate working in MNC in India. I am much inspired to have my higher studies in Theoretical Physics. I like to execute my desire in the coming academic year(Fall2008). But i missed to register GRE Subject Test(Physics) before deadline (The only option is to write GRE Subject Test (Physics) on April 12). I am likely going to write GRE General and TOEFL exams soon. I wish to know Top 50 schools for Theoretical physics(around the world)(Philosophy oriented). Is there any way to enter into such schools in coming academic year. I have greater interest in Physics and requiring oppurtunities to know the philosophy of physics very shorly..please guide me to a better tomorrow.

Hello,
I got my bachelor’s of mathematics last year and I’m taking a year off this year to travel a bit before going to do my master’s (I’m hoping to enroll in engineering). Anyway, I took the GRE General test and my results were not spectacular (470 verbal, 740 math). I’m signed up to take the math subject test on the 7th of november, but I’m debating on whether I should or not.
Since I’m taking a year off, I’m not doing any math, and I haven’t had access to any of my books or notes or anything. And I guess being in Korea learning Korean, I haven’t been studying much.
I’m primarily looking at schools in Texas since they seem to be within my reach (california universities are out of my reach I think), and those I’ve looked at so far do not require the Subject test, just the general. But I would not like to be disadvantaged or to see admission refused to a certain university because I didn’t take the GRE Subject test.
I’ve been gathering my documents and stuff and I’m about to apply, so I don’t know if there will be schools that I will want to apply to that will require the GRE Subject test. It’s possible that I apply to 4 or 5 schools.
Seeing that it’s been a few months since I’ve done any math, and since I’ve not had access to my books, do you think it’s worth taking the test? I’m afraid that if I do take it, it just ends up hurting me because of poor results.
I need advice…
By guessing, I mean just choosing random answers without really looking at the questions.
Yes, if I didn’t get 800 on the math part, it’s because I didn’t pace myself well and ended up guessing on the last few questions because I ran out of time.
Also can I pursue master or Ph.D in nutrition to become nutritional specialist or biochemistry because I love this science by healthy nutrition we can prevent many diseases. Thanks for all good people. I see there is biochemistry GRE subject test this is for who.
i am planning to take GRE subject in Biology, Can Anyone suggest me best free online GRE Subject Test website?
What is considered to be a good score on the Biochemistry/Cell Biology/Molecular Biology GRE Subject Test? How does the "quality" of the score vary across the echelons of universities in the US? (Specifically, I’m looking for score ranges).
Thanks!
prepping for the GRE subject test: Biology. What is an effective way to prepare for the exam? Which programs of books to use?
NOT the mathematics section of the GRE…but the Individual GRE SUBJECT TEST.
How hard is it for a traditional math major to complete. Beyond Multivar Calc and Linear Algebra, I have taken 1 semester of Analysis and 1 semester of Abstract Algebra.
Thanks.
Are you allowed to use a calculator on the GRE Subject test in mathematics !?!?!?!? If so, is the TI-89 Titanium allowed?
I’m an Indian resident. To apply for an engineering course in top univ like MIT,say in electronics, do i need to write the GRE subject test or would just the General Test do?
I just got my scores back for my GRE subject test in biology, my overall score was a 590 and the subdivision scores were 60-61. Is this at least decent?
Thanks,
E
I see they have eight subject tests, but the subject I want to do a Ph.D in (history) is not there. So, does that mean I don’t have to take the GRE subject test to get into grad school. I only have to take the general GRE? Please explain…
i am a bio major looking to take the general gre subject test, and I am a third year.

Thank you.
