PostHeaderIcon Did anyone else score a 990 on Kaplan GRE practice?

Looking for info on gre preparation classes, gre preparation courses, gre test course and more?

Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his GRE exam.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great Gre guide that helped me a lot
So study hard and good luck!

After my friend went to a Kaplan GRE practice session, I decided I ought to check my score. I went to a separate center and took the same exam. I scored a 990 — the same score as my friend. I then learned that another of his friends scored a 990. I’m suspicious.

Has anyone else taken the Kaplan Practice and what are your scores?

Thanks!

PostHeaderIcon Likelihood of being permitted to take math 55 at Harvard as a guest postgraduate student?

I attend a little-known state school, but I am doing some advanced research in mathematics as an undergraduate. I intend to engage in a senior honors project in algebraic geometry, and I typically get above an 840 on the math GRE practice. I intend to pursue PhD studies in math, but I am inhibited by my low gpa (3.75–trust me, it’s terrible for a math PhD applicant in math who isn’t from a great school).

Long story short, I want to do Harvard math 55 for both personal and academic reasons. I would preferably do it before I take the real GRE, but I want to get admitted to Harvard as a special (i.e., guest) graduate student, which is far less rigorous. So I will take the general GRE first, of course, and likely be magna cum laude and have university honors. I am a math/physics/philosophy/honors quadruple major, though my focus has been pure math.

So my question is, how likely am I to be admitted as a special guest student to Harvard (I can’t imagine it being as difficult as regular admissions, certainly not math admissions), and how likely am I to be able to enroll in math 55 (it isn’t explicitly stated as a restricted course)? Hopefully, my only major concern will be paying for it (!).

Thanks yahoo! community!

PostHeaderIcon If you’ve taken the GRE lately, the vocabulary questions were much harder than this, right?

I came across this site with GRE practice questions, and these questions seem extremely easy. The GRE is much more difficult, right?
