GRE Test Preparation?

Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his GRE exam.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great Gre guide that helped me a lot
So study hard and good luck!
Hello,
I am currently a month away from taking my GRE exam, but I have not prepared at all since I have been taking summer classes that have soaked up all of my little free time.
I will probably only have two weeks to prepare for the exam, and I was wondering if this would be considered ‘cramming’ and should I reschedule to give myself more time to study?
Anyone out there have any advice?
Thanks!

Applying for graduate schools with a low cumulative undergraduate GPA?
Hello, in the fall, I will be a senior at a 4-year university. Currently, I have a cumulative GPA of a 2.3. Granted I work as hard as possible and pull off a consecutive 4.0s in the next 2 semesters, the highest cumulative GPA that I can leave here with is around a 2.6, 2.7, depending on my course load.
I will be graduating with my BS in social work. Naturally, I am looking into graduate schools to continue my education, and work towards getting my Master’s degree. I don’t like talking up about myself, but I know that I have a lot of things to contribute towards a graduate school application: lots of volunteer work, good letters of recommendation, positive internship experiences, leadership roles during my time spent here, and more.
However, it does bother me that many graduate schools I’m looking into applying for (specifically, SUNY Albany and SUNY Stony Brook) require a 3.0 cumulative GPA. I’ve talked to several professors in my major here, as well as some peers, and they have been telling me to go for it; apply anyways. It’s still a little discouraging anyways, when reading that some schools won’t even consider an admissions application of anyone with a cumulative GPA of below a 3.0.
I could much definitely be worse off, but I plan on working my tail off these next two semesters by getting a good GPA, as well as hopefully scoring well when I take my GRE exam.
Should I continue with applying to these schools? Or should I seek graduate schools with lower GPA requirements?
Any advice is extremely helpful, thank you!
Not that it’s any consolation, the I know that my GPA is so low because of some early classes I had taken in my freshman days. I didn’t take college too seriously at first. However, I had calculated my major GPA, and it amounts to about a 3.4. I think they’d rather look at my cumulative GPA anyways, rather than the GPA of my major classes :\

What is the job market for a software engineer?

Should I do a master degree in civil engineering in US or Germany?
I am a German national studying in the UAE (country in the middle east) for a Bachelors in Civil Engineering in an ABET accredited university and I’ll graduate next semester (Fall 2010) with a good GPA. Now I’m trying to decide what to do in my future and got really confused among these three choices:
First, few of my friends have started preparing for the GRE exam required for applying to US universities. I’m pretty good in english and math so that wouldn’t be a hassle but this still it got me thinking: What are the advantages of applying to a school in the US rather than Germany?
Then, I have the choice of studying in Germany; though I don’t have a good grip on the language because I’ve lived all my life in the UAE and never visited Deutschland to date. I’m more than willing to spend a couple of semesters on language. But I’m not really sure what a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited uni would be equivalent to in the German educational system and I don’t want to be doing another undergrad course after 4 years of school and a graduation ceremony!
Finally, (though not mentioned in the main question) I can apply for a masters degree in my current university (which would be similar to a degree coming from a US university albeit the location) and get a job as a Teaching Assistant and get my degree for free.
I was also wondering about financial sponsorship (or assistance) available for students both in the US(as an international student) and in Germany(as a German national).
I know my question seems vague but any useful information/guidance/assistance would be much appreciated!!
P.S.: forgot to mention, I’m also doing a minor in engineering management so I decided on doing an MBA later on. But I still haven’t decided between environmental and structural engneering for my masters though I’m really leaning towards environmental engineering. Plase advise me on this matter too!
Okay, for example:
US uni: Virginia tech – www.vt.edu/ (i know it’s top 10…)
German uni: Karsruhe institute of Technology – http://www.kit.edu/english/index.php
Current uni: www.aus.edu
What grad schools offers a Master's of Science in Mechanical Engineering online that would be easy to get into?
I graduated from Arizona State University in Aerospace Engineering with a 3.02 GPA in May 2008. I did pretty horrible on the GRE exam. I am looking for a master’s program online that I could easily get into. I have been working for a top engineering company since I graduated. Any schools would be great that are ABET accredited.
What are ways to pay for applying to grad school?
I am planning to enter grad school next fall. I didn’t realize how competitive job market was, and this is one of the reasons I am choosing to go to graduate school. In the meantime, I am unemployed, and I do not have the money to apply to schools. Transcripts, applications fees, envelopes, stamps for letters of recommendation, GRE exam… I don’t have the money. One private school waived my application fee, but the other schools are public. How do I pay for these things?
What are the requirements for clinical and counseling Psychology?
I want to do MS in Psychology. I have completed Masters, but had not taken any psychology class. Do I have to take some classes first to apply for that? I guess a GRE exam first. Please let me know what are the requirements for that and how does this process. I am thinking to get admission in San Jose State University. Please advise.

Should I retake the GRE?
I didn’t study AT ALL for the GRE exam I took in April 2006 and I got:
Verbal: 490
Quantitative: 410
Analytical: 4.0
At the time, I was already in a graduate program so the test was just a formality. It wasn’t like I needed it to be admitted. I didn’t anticipate going further. Now, I’ve decided to pursue a doctorate in public policy. (I am currently applying to programs. I’ll graduate with a master’s in May 2007.) I’m wondering if I should just explain these scores or try again? Is it worth it?
Has anyone taken the GRE?
I want to take the GRE exam so that I can go to graduate school, but I am so nervous that I am not sure which way to study. I tried to study for the MCAT and I freaked out. I really would like to know how you studied for this exam. And how you got over the anxiety of the exam, if any. Please help me out.
