I have the GRE general study guides for 2008, exam was rescheduled for January 2, 2009. Do I need new books?

Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his GRE exam.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great Gre guide that helped me a lot
So study hard and good luck!
I had originally planned to take the General GRE in Jan ‘08, but had to reschedule for Jan ‘09. Do you think the questions/format will be so different that I will need new study guides? Also, how difficult is the exam REALLY? Thanks for any help!

No, the caliber of the questions generally remains the same. Just to give you an idea the questions in ETS’ 2008 prep guide are from the late 80’s-mid nineties. The only thing that has changed is the format which, to my knowledge, won’t be altered within the year.
Oh, and the exam is a bastard.
