How? Where? When? and do I need to study for the GRE test? ?
Looking for info on gre preparation classes, gre preparation courses,gre test course and more?

Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his GRE exam.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great Gre guide that helped me a lot
So study hard and good luck!
I want to know exactly how, where, when and any info you can give me about GRE tests I want to go to grad school, and first need to take the GRE.
The "where" and "when" and even the "how" you should be able to get from the ETS website. There are testing centers all over the US. I took it in Jan 2006 near Seattle, WA, and it was computerized. I even got my scores right there at the testing center about 2 minutes after I finished (all except the writing sample score, of course).
And yes, you DEFINITELY should study for it. There are a number of guides you can buy (I used the Princeton one), and there are practice tests you can take before hand.
In my case, it was well worth it: my first "practice" test score was awful — 490 math, 600 verbal. After a week of studying (a couple of hours every evening), I took the test at the testing center and scored 740 math (quantitative) and 720 verbal. Studying made all the difference.
What helped me the most was learning how to get to the right answer on the math stuff. You don’t need to know all the details of how to solve each problem; you just need to know how to eliminate the "wrong" answers and get to the right one. (Math was my weakest subject; you may be a math whiz, in which case … just ignore the above.
)
Anyway, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be, but don’t underestimate the amount of time and attention you need to give to preparing for it if you want to be competitive.
