I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his GRE exam.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.

How much, and which one is more important to take, the general one, or the subject one?

In the U.S. it is $140 for the General and $130 for the subject one.
With regards to which one is more important: Look to see what the graduate program you are applying to requests.
I have had to take the GRE twice over a span of 15 years and had to have the general and subject area the first time and just the general area the second time.
I typed in a site for you to explore that gives sample questions, registration information, fees and dates of testing.
Also consider visiting the Princeton Review site for GRE prep. You can purchase info for studying but you can also simply practice with their free examples.
