Looking for info on gre preparation classes, gre preparation courses, gre test course and more?

Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his GRE exam.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great Gre guide that helped me a lot
So study hard and good luck!

I plan to take it in August 2009. Everyone is telling me to begin studying by February at the latest. First of all, is this true? I am Canadian so I never had to take the SAT’s or any kind of test so I’m really not good at them. And also, my vocabulary sucks and I don’t even have my time tables memorized. So what do you suggest I do in order to get a GREAT score and get into the top schools?

Get that book the GRE for Dummies. It help me pass. I hate math and my highest score was in the quantitative section. I actually cried when I saw my scores because I knew I got into school and I knew I could get a scholarship with my score.
The book teaches you ‘how’ to take the test.
Go through each chapter of the book, so plan to start working on the book at least 2 months before you take the test, just like 2-4 hours a week.
Get a good set of audio vocabulary things or flash cards – because it becomes important.

With your profile, you might want to take one of the GRE study courses by Kaplan, Princeton, et al. Timing is an essential element of standardized tests, so the more you practice the better off you will be. I usually recommend getting 2-3 study books as each has a different perspective on how to study for and take the test, and all are probably valid.

First of all, good for you for realizing that you need to begin studying that early on. A lot of people don’t realize how much time and effort they need to put into preparing for this exam.

Also, good for you for realizing AND admitting that you aren’t very good at math. A lot of people don’t realize or admit that they have elementary-level math skills, and end up doing horrible in that area of the exam because of their over confidence.

My suggestion is taking a class from Kaplan in the new year and work regularly on problem areas. As long as you have enough time to prepare, you should be OK.
