Have you taken a Kaplan GRE course?
Looking for info on gre preparation classes, gre preparation courses, gre test course and more?

Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his GRE exam.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great Gre guide that helped me a lot
So study hard and good luck!
How much did you (they) improve your score after taking it?
I did take a Kaplan GRE course that was actually taught by Kaplan himself (I won’t tell you the year; let’s just say I’m ancient). I only took the GRE once, so I can’t tell you if I improved, but I know for sure my math score was much higher than it would have been if I hadn’t taken the course.
I had no trouble getting into graduate school.
I haven’t taken the Kaplan GRE course, but I took Kaplan’s SAT course and I can’t imagine they’re dramatically different (unless it’s for a specific subject test). I think the only real virtue of those kinds of test prep courses are that they give you practice tests in a real test-center-like setting. Otherwise, they mostly just teach you test-taking tips like narrowing down answers and how to effectively read those reading tests (the big secret: review the questions, then read the passage while taking little notes).
I think it ultimately comes down to how you learn. If you have the discipline (and the quiet area/time) to sit down and read a test prep book and do the little exercises and practice tests, you’ll get the same results as from a class. If it would do you good to have an instructor and a class sort of moving you along, then take the class.
