GRE subject test to make up for a bad grade?

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his GRE exam.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.

I got a really bad grade in my biology class. Is it a good idea to take the GRE biology subject test to kind of make up for it, assuming that I will do well on the test? I am planning to apply to graduate school in Engineering, not biology.

Unless you’re planning on going to graduate school in biology, I would not take the GRE biology subject test. Have you seen the practice test put out by ETS for it? The subject tests cover most of the material learned in an entire undergraduate education. It’s unfortunate that you got a bad grade in biology, but it would be much easier to just retake the class than to take a whole subject test. Of course, if you can really nail the subject test (>80th percentile), that’s another story.
