Do I have to take the GRE and the LSAT?

Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his GRE exam.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great Gre guide that helped me a lot
So study hard and good luck!
I am ending out my junior year in college right now and am on track to graduate next spring. I’m a Comm Major, poli sci minor, and I’ve been thinking I’d really like to go to law school.
I’ve already signed up at LSAC, and am thinking about taking a LSAT prep course. But first, I’d like to just do a dry run of the test, see what score I get, then go from there…
My question is: If I want to go to a law school, do I need to take both the GRE and the LSAT? Is it a good idea to take the GRE anyway even if I don’t have to?
No, you only have to take the LSAT to apply to law school. The only reason you should take the GRE is if you plan on doing a dual degree while in law school. Most law schools affiliated with a larger university will allow you to do a dual degree where you earn, for example, an MBA at the same time as your JD. You have to apply to both schools, ie the business and the law school, to do a dual degree program. In that case you would need the GRE to get into the other grad school.
If you are just going to law school though the GRE would be a waste of your time, law schools would never see it.
Best of luck on the LSAT!! Practice, practice, practice, that is the only way to master the LSAT.
